Caring for your cutlery knife
After using your knife set, wash them with water, dry them out and then place them in your
wooden block set. This is critical. Place your knives on it's spine so that
the blade is not touching the wood. Other methods of storage include, leaving them
flat in a drawer or hanging them on some kind of magnet. Be sure to keep knive
blades away from each other. This will cause damage.
Maintaining the blade is quite simple. Use a sharpening steel if your knife is
capable of being sharpened. Most knife sets come with a sharpening steel, so use the
set that came with your knife block.
If your knife is already dull and needs sharpening, use a good quality diamond sharpener.
You can also use the sharpening steel, but more work and precision will need to be
done.
When washing your knife, dry them immediately. This will spell less corrosion, rust
and wear. Take care of your knives, and your food will taste that much better!
